The 'System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Configuration Pack' contains items to manage Configuration Manager 2007 site system roles by using the configuration management components in Configuration Manager 2007. It monitors any of the following site system roles:

  • Management points
  • Distribution points
  • Software update points

The Configuration Pack also monitors WSUS (Windows Server Update Services) components on upstream WSUS servers or software update points. To manage site system roles with 'System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Configuration Pack', you must import and assign the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Server Roles configuration baseline to a collection that contains your Configuration Manager 2007 site systems.

There is no unique configuration baseline for all site systems. It evaluates the compliancy only for roles configured on the site system. For instance, if a computer only holds the distribution point role, it will never be evaluated for management point configurations.
